Although this policy is not new, its reiteration and renewed pursuit under current conditions indicate that after decades of failure, the Zionists now see themselves in a position to change the regional equations, and Syria is also one of the key geopolitical points of the Greater Israel idea.”
According to this expert, “Syria was the front line of the anti-Zionist front for all past decades; after the Camp David Accords, which removed Egypt from the front line of confronting the Zionist regime, only Damascus remained. This very position caused regional and international pressures to focus on Syria. On one hand, financial and military support from some Arab countries for extremist groups like ISIS, and on the other hand, the structural weakness of the Assad government, practically created grounds for weakening Damascus’s position and opening the way for the infiltration of the Israeli regime.”

Project to Partition Syria: From the Golan to the Northeast
Nobandegani believes that “today, Syria has practically entered a stage of partition.” He says: “When the Israeli regime occupies Syrian villages and bases daily and the Jolani government does not even issue an official condemnation, it means its governing structure has been stripped of deterrent capability.” According to him, “The Zionist regime has destroyed Syrian army, training, and research centers through continuous aerial and missile attacks and has made this country highly vulnerable.”
Nobandegani further explains that “some minorities and internal currents have also played a role in this process.” In his view, “The Druze of the Al-Suwayda region have close cooperation with the Israeli regime, and some even serve in its army. This internal alignment, alongside extensive external support, has smoothed the path for Syria’s partition.” The senior international affairs analyst adds: “The Kurds of northeastern Syria have also, with the support of the US and the Israeli regime, become a tool to contain Turkey and pressure the Damascus government. These forces, in addition to creating a security challenge for Ankara, have practically become a provocative factor against Iran and Iraq as well.”
He notes that “Turkey itself made a big mistake. Erdogan thought that after Bashar al-Assad’s fall, he could control the Syrian scene with the Muslim Brotherhood. Still, today, he has not only fallen short of his goal but the Western-supported Kurdish forces have become a serious threat to Turkey’s security.”

Axis of Resistance: A Strong Dam Against the Greater Israel Project
Nobandegani’s analysis indicates that the “Greater Israel” project will not progress after neutralizing the Syrian threat without eliminating the Axis of Resistance. Therefore, he points out that “The Israeli regime was defeated in several wars, but what prevented the full achievement of their goals was the Axis of Resistance. From the Islamic Revolution in Iran to the Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza, the Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq, and Ansarullah in Yemen, all have created a strong dam against the expansionism of the Israeli regime.”
He assesses the assassination of Hezbollah leaders, the widespread killings in Gaza, and even economic and political pressures against Iraq in the same context, and in his view, when first-tier resistance leaders are targeted, the main goal of the Israeli regime is to reduce the deterrent power of these movements. Nobandegani refers to the assassination of prominent commanders in Gaza as well as US actions to limit Iraqi resistance groups and adds: “Even recent efforts to disarm resistance groups in Iraq and Lebanon are part of this grand plan, and practically the removal of Syria from the resistance equations according to the American plan can be analyzed in this context.”

Uncertain Future: Opportunities and Threats
In the final part of his remarks, this analyst, by linking the post-Assad Syrian equations with the US plan and pressure to disarm the resistance, paints a broader picture of the region’s future and emphasizes that “Today, the Israeli regime practically occupies parts of Syrian and Lebanese territory, has taken control of the West Bank, and is planning for the complete occupation of Gaza. Looking at the Sinai Desert and pressuring Jordan are also part of this project. In fact, the Greater Israel project is being pursued.” He notes that “In the past, wherever the Israeli regime occupied, it was only forced to retreat through armed resistance; examples include withdrawal from southern Lebanon in the 1980s or limited withdrawal from Sinai after the Camp David Accords.”
Nobandegani also refers to the Abraham Accords and the normalization of relations by some Arab governments with Tel Aviv and says: “Some governments practically behave like states of the US.” He, meanwhile, notes that “History has always shown unpredictable capacities. Sometimes it is thought that the Israeli regime is at the peak of power, but a social development or an unforeseen reaction from the resistance can disrupt all plans.”
According to the senior international affairs analyst, “Even the announcement of recognition of the Palestinian state by some European countries, although it may be part of a political show to reduce public opinion pressure, indicates that the Palestinian issue is still at the top of global equations.” Therefore, he emphasizes: “Although the Axis of Resistance today faces unprecedented pressures, historical experience has shown that only through resistance can victory be hoped for.”

Strategic Council Online – Interview: A senior international affairs analyst stated that the recent meeting of the foreign minister of Syria’s interim government with a delegation from the Zionist regime in Paris marks a turning point in the regional equations; an event that, beyond a simple diplomatic meeting, signifies a redefinition of strategies regarding Syria’s future. These talks, which were mediated by the United States and focused on reducing tensions in southern Syria, monitoring the ceasefire, and reactivating the 1974 agreement, clearly indicate that the Syria file can no longer be analyzed solely within the framework of an internal crisis or field conflicts. Instead, Damascus today is caught in a complex duality: on one hand, it faces the occupation of part of its territory by the Israeli regime and increasing pressures on its strategic geography, and on the other hand, it feels the necessity of utilizing diplomacy to break out of political isolation. Meanwhile, the Israeli regime seeks to consolidate its position in the region, an issue that links to the long-standing project of “Greater Israel” and efforts to dismantle the traditional structures of the Middle East.

[13289,17,12726
43451,42817,43450,23045,12736,12870,13078,22365
post-345482","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-interview","category-politics","category-10-en-2","tag-dr-mohammad-javad-jamali-en","tag-golani","tag-greater-israel-project-en","tag-resistance-movement","tag--en","tag---en","tag-israeli-regime-en
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.0 -
