Iranian nuclear envoy states it is possible to avoid US economic sanctions

Madrid, June 21 June (EFE) .- The Iranian envoy for the nuclear conflict, Kamal Kharrazí, affirms that there are ways to avoid US economic sanctions for those who trade with Iran, following the breakdown of the agreement by Washington of the so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)
The G5 + 1 agreement (US, China, Russia, the United Kingdom, France and Germany) reached in July 2015 was rejected by US President Donald Trump, who resumed economic sanctions despite requests for reconsideration from
.others signatories
Kharrazi , in an interview today with Efe after visiting yesterday the Secretary of State of the Vatican, Cardinal Pietro Parolin , and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Enzo Moavero Milanesi warned that European countries will have to find formulas that make it possible to maintain the agreement.
Otherwise, for Tehran there would be “no reason, or any reason why Iran would want to stay in the nuclear agreement,” said former Foreign Minister and special envoy of Iranian President Hasan Rohaní .
He warned that “a total rupture of the nuclear agreement can have very dangerous consequences for security in the Middle East region.”
“Economic interests are not only at stake, but also the most important, the security interests of Europe itself”.
The high official insisted that he intends to explain the position of his country in the meetings that today led him to Madrid to meet with the head of Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell.
In his opinion, it is necessary the support of governments, such as Spain, for companies that intend to maintain their investments and commitments in the Iranian market.
“It would depend on the level of support from European governments to their own companies, to see to what level they are willing to continue supporting their companies so that they can cooperate with Iran,” he explained.
“There is currently a dialogue between Iran and the European Union with the aim of creating support mechanisms for those companies that want to continue working with Iran, and we hope that this political will translate into guarantees of support for all that is the nuclear agreement.” , emphasized the diplomat.
Asked if the model of companies like Halliburton is viable, which would be led by the then Vice President of the US Dick Cheney through subsidiaries in the Cayman Islands as he recognized in 2003 to the Securities Market Commission – said that “of course there are different mechanisms to avoid sanctions.”
He added that “we must bear in mind that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been able to survive and search for avenues during all the years that it has been subject to sanctions by the United States.”
He noted that “those companies that are interested in working in the large Iranian market must be looking for ways to maintain this market.”
On Trump’s talks with the North Korean leader, Kim Jong – un , for a hypothetical denuclearization of the Korean peninsula he said: “I do not see” any relationship with Iran.
“The dialogue between the United States and North Korea is at a very preliminary stage but also the future of these negotiations is not clear to anyone,” he added.
The high diplomat stressed that “in view of the breaches of the United States and in view of the fact that a US president has ignored a signature of his predecessor we do not give any credibility to a signature of an American president.”
He assured of the allies of the United States with whom he has spoken “they do not give any credibility” to Trump.
“The world is currently being held hostage by the irrational decisions of the American president,” he added.
In his opinion, “it is now up to the European countries to defend their independence and dignity in the face of the decisions of the US administration.”
He assured that it has been the Syrian Army with the help of Russia and Iran that have “wiped out the terrorists of ISIS (Islamic State) and Al Nusra in Syria and Iraq,” which he affirmed have received financial support and the supply of arms Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Qatar
.”Today Europe owes its security to these efforts,” he proclaimed
.And he insisted that his country is “willing to dialogue” to end the war in Yemen or to end the Syrian conflict where he stressed that “these days nobody is talking about the dismissal of Bashar al-Assad.” EFE
