In an interview with the website of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, Seyed Reza Sadr al-Hosseini, referring to the first visit of the UAE Foreign Minister to the Occupied Territories and the negotiations held on the second anniversary of the normalization of relations between the two sides, stated: The Zionist regime, due to its fragility and internal problems and the instability of security in the Occupied Territories made an extra effort to communicate with the countries with which it already had inconspicuous relations, and in this connection, using the media empire, the efforts were aimed at highlighting such measures significantly.
Saying that the Zionist regime seeks to compensate for its security gap by establishing close relations with the countries in the Middle East region, he added: The Zionist regime is still seeking to establish relations with other countries in the region. In this regard, the UAE Foreign Minister visited the occupied territories, and simultaneously with this trip, the issue of forming the “Arab Army” or “Arab NATO”, which had been out of the agenda, was also discussed.
The analyst of West Asia affairs pointed to the talks of the UAE Foreign Minister with the Zionist prime minister, in which the follow-up of the provisions of the Negev security meeting and the understanding for a new security mechanism in the West Asian region were discussed, and said: It has been almost 10 years since such mechanism is being discussed and so far no practical measure has been taken in this regard. Even Biden’s trip to the region could not give any impetus to the issue, and despite extensive propaganda regarding the increase in the number of countries that have normal relations with the Zionist regime or the creation of a new security mechanism, no achievements were made in this regard.
Sadr al-Hosseini emphasized that the Zionist regime needs to magnify its relations with the Middle East countries and added: During Biden’s trip to the region, some Arab countries in the Persian Gulf region considered the issue of formation of the Arab NATO to be a story telling by the media of the Zionist regime, and some countries assured the countries of West Asia and the Persian Gulf region, especially Iran, that no action will be taken against Iran’s interests in this case. In addition, due to the complete preparations of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and accurate intelligence monitoring, they are fully in control, and aware, of any disharmonious movement.
Referring to the export of 758 million dollars of military equipment of the Zionist regime to the UAE and also the effort to increase the volume of economic relations to 2.5 billion dollars by the end of 2022, he added: The UAE announced that 65 cooperation agreements were signed during that trip, most of which were in the military and security fields. Increasing the security and military presence in the Persian Gulf is one of the important and fundamental issues for the Zionist regime for which it is striving. This issue has important consequences that should be taken into consideration by the countries of the region.
At the same time, Sadr al-Hosseini said: Considering the fragile state of the government in the Zionist regime and the high possibility of Lapid’s removal, the political and security situation of the regime is so messed up that we have seen serial insecurity in the main and busy streets of Tel Aviv. The internal conditions of the regime, the dissatisfaction of the public opinion of the countries towards normalization of relations with the Zionist regime and the situation in the region, are not as such that the regime can buy security for itself through security contracts or by creating a change in the balance of power in West Asia.
The expert on West Asia affairs reminded: The situation of the accumulation of weapons in the region is such a way that it is really placed on the powder warehouse and the increase of such weapons for the countries of the region brings dangerous consequences. If weapons could help those countries, the amount of weapons they have purchased so far at a huge price would have brought them to their targets. Today, due to the military interventions in Yemen, the UAE has been faced with threats from the Yemeni people led by Ansarollah and has found important differences with Saudi Arabia.
Saying that it should not be forgotten that how the port and customs facilities of the UAE were affected by the drone attacks of the Yemeni people, he noted: Despite all the propaganda, we were witness to an unfavorable image of the military capabilities of the UAE which proved that the UAE could not achieve its targets against the resistance movement of Ansarollah, which only depends on the support of its people. Now that the UAE is faced with the change of American policy in West Asia and focusing on the strategy of containing China, it is trying to cover the vacuum of this reduction in security commitments by appealing to the Zionist regime, which will definitely not be successful, and that regime also cannot play the role of a proxy for the White House.
Sadr al-Hosseini pointed to the cooperation between the UAE and the Zionist regime in the fields of food security, agriculture and energy and emphasized: Considering the economic problems, the Zionist regime needs the money it receives from the UAE and other Arab countries. The Zionist regime’s attempt to penetrate various fields, including medicine and treatment, agriculture and food, can be dangerous for the future of the people of the UAE and the ruling regime of that country.
Referring to the protests of the people of the UAE regarding the visit of the foreign minister of that country to the occupied territories, the analyst of West Asia affairs said: All the efforts of the Zionist regime are aimed at increasing security for itself, and due to its racist nature, it will never be possible for it to support other countries.
