In addition to international and regional issues, Lebanon’s political situation was also discussed in this meeting. Dr. Kharazi emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran supports forming a solid and capable government in Lebanon, within the framework of the existing political structures, without foreign interference, and based on the will of the people of that country.

The head of the Strategic Council of Foreign Relations said that a safe Lebanon with a strong economy could play a constructive role in the region. He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran encourages all political tendencies in Lebanon to speed up the government formation process.

In this meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lebanon stressed the friendly relations between the two countries and welcomed the recent agreements between Iran and Saudi Arabia, considering it to bring more stability and positive developments in the region.
