Strategic Council Online: Seyed Ammar al-Hakim, the leader of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement, met with Dr. Seyed Kamal Kharrazi, the President of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations (SCFR), this afternoon. They discussed regional developments, bilateral relations, and the prospects of elections in Iraq.

Mr. al-Hakim, referring to the wickedness of the Zionist regime during the 12-day war, said: “The bravery of Iranians, Iran’s Leader measures, domestic cohesion, and the military might of the Islamic Republic of Iran astonished everyone. The foreign delegations that met with me were very surprised by what happened because, contrary to the expectations of Iran’s enemies, the Israeli aggression led to national cohesion and consensus within Iran, solidarity of the Islamic world with Iran, and the elevation of Iran’s status, while revealing the weaknesses of the Israeli regime.”

Dr. Seyed Kamal Kharrazi also said: “Among the principles of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran are the defense of territorial integrity, national sovereignty, and the independence of all countries. In this regard, Iran has always emphasized that an independent and powerful Iraq strengthens regional security and stability.”

The President of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations said: “The main reason for the U.S. conflict with Iran is the Islamic Republic’s capability to respond to the atrocities of the Zionist regime in the region. The U.S. seeks to weaken Iran to pave the way for the hegemony of the Zionist regime over the region, so that it can dominate Arab and Islamic countries on behalf of the U.S. This is a danger that threatens all countries in the region.”

Dr. Kharrazi, while emphasizing the importance of the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary election, expressed hope that Iraq would make progress in all fields and play a prominent role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
