SCFR President added: Where can you find a country in the region to have succeeded in strengthening its military power with the presence of foreign forces on its soil to the extent that it would no longer need foreign forces? If the Islamic Republic is an undisputed power in the region today, it is because of its self-reliance and non-dependence on foreign forces.
Dr. Kharrazi continued: We admire the liberation of the Azerbaijan territory that was under occupation for 30 years. Of course, from the very beginning, our advice to the late President of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, was to strengthen the country’s armed forces with Iran’s logistical and training cooperation and to liberate the occupied territories by his own forces, but unfortunately, it was not welcomed by him and the result was further reliance of Azerbaijan on foreign powers and its resort to foreign forces.
In conclusion, he said: Undoubtedly, the Zionist regime has not built a nest in Azerbaijan without expectations and has sinister goals to fan the flames of war in the region due to the strategic mistake of the Baku government, and this could be a catastrophic tragedy. Our advice to the authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan is to get rid of the illusion of buying security by resorting to foreign forces and relying on their own people. Azerbaijan has a combatant and heroic people who are able to maintain the security of their own country with their own hands.
