America’s Strategy in the First Year of the Gaza War

Strategic Council Online: An American issues expert said: The American strategy after one year of the Gaza war is to eradicate West Asia’s resistance groups, but this should be done in such a way that the United States would lose control of the situation because its interests are not in starting a full-scale war in the region.

Amir Ali Abolfatah, in an interview with the website of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, stated that the belief and policy of the United States and the Israeli regime is that the jihadist groups Hamas and Hezbollah in Lebanon must be destroyed, the Islamic Republic of Iran must also be contained, and they have no differences on this policy.  Although they disagree on realizing this policy at some points and, in some cases, in general, they pursue this goal.

He continued: America looks at this issue from a global perspective and believes that developments in West Asia affect the interests and events in America, Europe, and East Asia. The United States believes that this policy should be followed in a way that does not endanger its interests in these regions. Still, the Israeli regime’s view on this issue is regional and does not have the global concern of America, which is the reason for their differences in reaching the goal. The United States says that Hamas should be targeted in a way that would not cause the sensitivity of public opinion at the global level. Still, the Israeli regime has security concerns, and its slogan is that. “I will kill and kill and will burn and burn to ensure my security, and I challenge the judgment of governments and the United Nations and public opinion either want to ensure their security at any cost, but in this case, America has reservations.

This expert on American issues continued: America says that part of its power in the world is due to the so-called moral leadership and the implementation of the rules of democracy in the world, so it apparently warns the Israeli regime that if you want to kill and assassinate, do it more silently and more slowly. Do your job, but don’t hit hospitals, schools, and civilians. Of course, the Zionist regime is actually trying to show that it is not under the full command of America.

Abolfatah stated that the American policy towards the Gaza war is to support the Israeli regime on the one hand and make this regime obey the will of the United States on the other. On the threshold of the presidential elections, the domestic public opinion of the United States is definitely sensitive to the issue of the Gaza war, and on the one hand, it is directly related to the interests of the United States in the region.

Emphasizing that the US does not want a full-scale war or a full-scale peace in the West Asian region, he added: They want peace or a war that is under their control, and they do not want the US to be subject to the policies of the Israeli regime. Although America agrees with the limited war and destroying the infrastructure used by Hamas and Hezbollah, it pressures the Israeli regime not to attack relief forces and civilian spots and people. Still, the Israelis say that the Palestinian generation should be exterminated.

This American affairs expert said about the possible end of the Gaza war from the American point of view: its time cannot be predicted, and it is unlikely that even the Americans know this, but they hope that the end of this story is the destruction of Hamas and the Hezbollah. This is while everyone knows that achieving this goal is not possible, and even if Hamas and Hezbollah are destroyed, they will be replaced by groups that will be more determined to confront the Israeli regime. Guerrilla jihadist groups have been born, operated, and disappeared many times in the region, only to be replaced by stronger groups because the hatred that has been planted will not disappear with the demise of Hamas. On the other hand, the Israeli regime is not a regime that reconciles with the Palestinian and Lebanese people. According to the Israeli regime, all Palestinians are terrorists and must be destroyed, even the child in the mother’s womb.

Abolfatah emphasized: In any case, with the events that have happened, the Israeli regime has become much different and more extreme than the regime before October 7, and it is natural that it will deal with some of its actions head-on. Some of the right-wing extremists believe that the gates have now been opened, the fire should be poured on the Palestinians, and they should not retreat because of the United Nations and the public opinion of the world and the governments. But the Israeli regime is a regime dependent on America and cannot do whatever it likes militarily and politically. Therefore, they don’t do anything beyond America’s tolerance, and what we are witnessing now is definitely within the framework of America’s tolerance and interests.

The Inseparability of the Lebanese Front from the Axis of Resistance

SCFR Online–Opinion: By providing an extensive network of social, healthcare, educational, and post-war reconstruction services, Hezbollah has established a strong social base for itself among Lebanon’s Shiites and Sunnis, and even beyond that, among other segments of Lebanese society, including Christians. Hezbollah has never been an external actor imposed upon Lebanon; rather, it is a phenomenon fundamentally born out of the occupation and crimes of the Zionist regime and itself influenced by popular resistance.

The Increasing Efforts of the Zionist Regime to Redefine Borders and the Regional Order and Its Consequences

SCFR Online– Opinion: Security and military developments in the region over recent months indicate that the ongoing crises and wars in Gaza, southern Lebanon, and parts of Syrian territory encompass broader dimensions of geopolitical and geostrategic transformations. In this context, the increased military presence and control of the Zionist regime over parts of the territories of these areas, along with proposals regarding the creation of buffer zones or even the expansion of security borders, have raised serious questions about the future of the regional order and its consequences for the countries of West Asia.

The Components of Iran’s Deterrence Power

SCFR Online – Opinion: At a time when regional security equations have reached a sensitive stage under the influence of Iran’s strategic confrontation with the United States and the Zionist regime, the question of the nature of Tehran’s defensive power has gained greater significance than ever before. While Washington and Tel Aviv rely on their technological superiority, the Islamic Republic of Iran has presented a model of deterrence that extends beyond the material calculations of the world’s classical militaries. This power, rooted in the connection between “the field” and “the people,” has not only altered the balance of power in recent conflicts but has also disrupted adversaries’ calculations when confronting Iran’s strategic depth.
